#1 Taos Pueblo
As one of the few city dwelling societies in North America, the Puebloan people are the builders of the oldest buildings in North America, dating back over to 700 AD. This Taos Pueblo is the 2nd oldest structure in the US, about 1000 years old. It is still lived in today. Read more here…
#2 Shree Yoga
We went to three yoga classes ranging from relaxing/restorative to high intensity (ok, truth be told it was a beginners class but damn it was hard). The teachers were patient, the workouts were rejuvenating and the price was right! $7 for an one hour class was definitely in our budget. You can also opt for a punch card and for $45 you get 7 hours of yoga classes. Not bad at all. They also have classes everyday to meet everyone’s schedule. We highly recommend checking this place out.
We had a lot of great food in Taos. On our last night we decided to try somewhere close to Taos RV Park and it was our favorite spot during our stay. At first glance, we were skeptical because this place doesn’t look too nice. We walked in and ordered at the counter and sat in a large empty dining room. Then the food came and wow were we impressed! By far the best New Mexican food we had. As we were leaving, there was a line out the door so we must have come early enough to beat the dinner crowd.
-Runner up for best food was Orlando’s. If you prefer a sit down dining experience, this is another great place.
We love going to the spa and sometimes you just have to splurge and get the best. The Living Spa was nestled in behind a winding path behind the hotel. You walk into a delicious aroma, friendly staff, and a sense of peace. The locker rooms are top notch, suppling all the essentials needed to prepare for a massage. The “waiting room” is a large indoor garden equipped with water falls, babbling brooks, and a variety of teas to be enjoyed during the wait. The massage itself was absolutely wonderful, relaxing, and rejuvenating.
#5 Explore the amazing art galleries
There are hundreds of artists that live in the small town of Taos, all equally excited to share there craft with the world. You will see some of the best landscape photography and western oil paintings in the world.
