Living on the road means scaling back, and getting rid of a lot of stuff…pretty much everything in fact. Instead of a ton of stuff for all their respective purposes, we prefer investing in a few of the right things, that can serve many purposes. This is, besides our clothing and bathroom gear, everything that we currently own.
A few special objects get a little extra praise, both for their cleverness in product design and absolute handiness for living tiny/ full time glamping
Sea To Summit Pocket Towel
This super smart towel takes up less space than a bar of soap in the bathroom tote.
Made with ultra-absorbent micro-fibre polyester/polyamide blend, this towel is soft, large enough to cover most of the torso of the body, and completely usable when wet or dry. It rolls up easily to fit into it’s case, and drys quickly when hanging. Because it absorbs up to 3x its weight in water, it is also effective when damp, so if you need to role it up and pack it away wet, that OK too. This is essential if backpacking or even if Glamping.
Living in a camper is great, hooking up to water is as easy as plugging the hose in…which means your water may taste like hose, unless you invest in a water filter. Our micro-living camper has a cute little bar sink, so this filter that sits to the side of the faucet, instead of hanging below facet…is perfect for us.
This space saver is a must have in a camper. It’s nail free and so cute on the wall!
Lots of cell phones are handy multipurpose tools, but what we love most about the iPhones are their exceptional photo taking abilities. As the technology continues to perform, this small tool can be a powerful camera, and still fit easily in the pocket. Only downsides to the 6 is that it is very breakable. Unlike it’s invincible older sister, the 5c, the iPhone 6 DEFINITELY needs a case to go adventuring with you.
If you are on the road, but your job, source of income, or video streaming happiness requires a hookup to fast internet, the Jetpack AC791L is your pal. RV campgrounds have patchy wifi, which may be fine for email and Facebook. But for anything heavier, you’ll need a lightning fast internet connection.
Any light-weight super powerful laptop would be handy for a life on the road, but we prefer our apple MacBooks. They are resilient, powerful, elegant tools, that can be used day in and day out for years.
It meets our needs of “small” and “indestructible” so we like it. The taste is closer to an espresso so we add in water to make Americanos. We’re adjusting to the new taste which is why we gave this [propduct 4.5 stars, but the coffee maker works great!
Rachael Ray Cucina Hard Porcelain Enamel Nonstick Skillet Set, 9.25-Inch and 11-Inch, Pumpkin Orange
Most beautiful cookware we’ve ever purchased. Does the job and it’s in our favorite color, what’s not to like?
We’ve been dreaming of a cast iron skillet for years. This combo allows us to bake in a cast iron oven over camp fire coals. This has not disappointed. It was well seasoned in vegetable oils so we had no problem with sticking and the food has been coming out great!
As a space saver, this thing is great. Folds up flat and takes up minimal space.
The cutest little rice maker! It only makes 3 cups of rice at a time, which is perfect for two people. The only thing we don’t like is when it begins boiling the water sometimes comes out the vent. We just put a towel underneath it and voila! Perfect rice every time.
Beautiful for a regular plastic plate.
As eco-consious folks we try our best to avoid plastic, but these unbreakable, decorative gems we couldn’t resist.
As with all our products, we needed these to be unbreakable which they definitely are. They grind well and take up minimal space which we love!
Yes, this is a regular ol’ mixing bowl. Clear, beautiful, and functional, when it’s time to marinate, mix, or stir, these bowls are perfect.
Camp Living Essentials
This was a big one for Jessi. What’s worse than putting your soap away only to find soap film everywhere? Nothing is worse, according to her. So this tiny little gem has really saved us from such disasters.
Bringing it back to the good ol’ college days with this shower caddy. This vegan leather tote (yes, this is really a thing) fits all of our essentials: lotion, shampoo, conditioner, hairbrush, tooth brushes, tooth paste, contact lenses, deodorant, and both towels without a problem. This is a perfect item to grab and go to the shower with!
Trying to be eco friendly we got these cups to try to limit our plastic. They are pretty, yes, but a bit pricey, the cups get hot with coffee, and there’s a slight metal taste to them. They do the job but not our favorite item.
Before you hit the road, there are a few things you need for your new RV lifestyle that standard tents don’t require. It’s not glamours, but if you want to use your camping amenities, all of these are essential!
We us our indoor sink daily. Making coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon, washing our hands etc. The only way to accomplish all this is with this nifty water hose. Hooked right up to the campsite and fulfills all your water needs.
Ever brushed your teeth after it bathed in shampoo residue? We have! And isn’t fun. This little gizmo utilizes wall space while sparing us from soap flavored toothpaste. What’s not to love?
So this little doohickey seems kinda useless right? Well- think again! In order for your rv refrigerator to work properly, your rv needs to be level. Why? No clue. Also, who wants to sleep on a slope? Now how do you make your rv level you ask? See our next product, the leveling blocks.
Want to sleep on level ground? These are like building blocks for adult RV-ers. Create a staircase to a good night sleep, drive the camper over it and ta-da! A good night sleep awaits. That is, unless you roll away- see the next piece of gear to prevent that.
This is a perfect tote to fit into our bathroom. Yes, we know it’s a lunch box, but this is water proof and perfectly fits all of our medicines, ointments, and bathroom supplies!
